There is no native Hawaiian wood more iconic than Koa. Koa is a part the acacia tree found all around the world, however, our native Koa trees are endemic to Hawaii’s volcanic islands. Traditionally, Koa forests populated “wao kele” or the mountainous regions. These majestic trees require approximately 80 years to reach maturity. Today, only naturally felled trees can be harvested which makes this wood extremely rare and desired worldwide.
